I am here to just say hi, how are you going?
I am goin well, i went to whitman park the otherday and had a lot of fun, i almost ate a dead bird but mummy growled at me and took it off me!
I have had a lot of fun on this website as you know i am fairly new, mummy says i can maybe become a member soon. i have had some bad news though
My mummy had news from her aunty that her favourite rabbit dies, his name is mo and her aunty is vewy sad, he has gone to heaven now. he had cancer and had an operation.
he was fine in the operwation but he couldnt manage it after.

Deska is a fantastic looking dog,I would ask the vet to weigh the dog and give you a note saying its in the normal weight range."Experts" can be hard to argue with.I have had people insist OES are really Saint Bernards,(even though they look zero alike),people who say "it doesnt look old to me,maybe its a young english sheepdog",and "why isnt it dead in this heat?" I have never had one have any problem with heat,they live in our airconditioned house,swim or lie in a toddlers paddle pool,lie on the tiles floors,and I remove the undercoat if I dont clip for Summer,so they just have a flatter,cooler coat.

The small dog is a OES puppy,about 7 weeks old,she grew to be large and hairy like the big dog.Yes,OES have double coats.If they are shaved,they look a bit like a large airedale.You could not possibly guess what an OES weighs if its in full coat,their coat makes them look way fatter and I have had big solid OES and trim small OES who look very similar in photos,only when they got shaved for summer could you see the extreme difference in size.A Beardie is similar but their coats are silky,not fluffy and I wouldnt think they had an undercoat.Also,I have seen dozens ofthem and never ever seen a beardie with any mats or tangles so I assume their coats are way different to OES,who can get a mat on a short walk on a windy day!I think you could guess the weight of a beardie as their coat sits flat.If you see this mystery dog yourself,take a photo with your phone and show me,I can tell one from the other always,if thats any help.

PS - the other dog is pretty small for an OES and not so fluffy - that usually means beardie doesnt it? Our mum's nan had an OES she was big and really cuddly (the dog not the nan!).

Hello we have a question for you.  Do OES have a double coat?  And what is the main diff with a beardie and OES.

At agility we get sick of hearing that the agility people can assess the weight of double coated dogs because they have an OES in another class.  I think it is a beardie anyway.  Deska has to go for his agility test again soon and has already been rejected twice because they said he was too fat - even tho they let in a shephard - same size but 7kg heavier (and of course no double coat).  Our vet says his weight is fine.  We want to get ready armed for this double coat argument of theirs.
