I am insured with Medibank Private and I find that it gives me excellent cover!

Mum looked into it because of our crazy antics but they are very restrictive on what can be claimed.  For example, being bitten by a snake is covered but tearing a ligament from chasing roos, agility or a backyard mishap isnt.

At any rate, they seem to be all underwritten by the same company.  The difference seemed to be on the top table there are some extras available.

In the US and UK the insurance policies provide a lot more.  We did find a new one recently - Pet Plan that is a UK company and mum is going to look into that one as it has physio and alternative therapies and kennel fees if the owner is hospitalised and a heap of other stuff.

Choice has released a report this month comparing dog insurance.  You have to buy it online though.

For the standard plan they recommend Pet Insurance Australia, Pet secure and 1300Insurance

Hello boxer,

sorry this is sort of late, i only just joined up.
we have looked about too and found, for us anyhow, insurance is too costly for what you get covered for. most of them dont cover regular accidents and common illness, which is what we are wanting. my vet..very nice guy... suggested we get a credit card that will cover most things that could happen to us and squirrel it away for that day when the bad thing happens. the yearly fee is only $30.00 or something comared to $100s that the companies charge. it works for us. maybe that would work for you?
cheers,
benji.

Would be worth looking at if you have a brred which is prone to expenisve illnesses...you never know what could happen and if you dont have that rainy day money it can be a huge financial worry...
